Candle Stick Holder

This candle stick holder is a combination of decorative and functional. The bottom is exactly like my yin yang dish and I added two more slabs. I wanted to experiment with slabs more and with curves (the handle and rim). I used slip on the surface to strengthen the connections since the pieces are so thin. I painted two coats of CN341 (Light Pink) and two coats of CR821 (Parchment Crackle) on red clay. I found it hard to apply even coats of the CR821 (it was goupy!). I’m happy with the final look it’s what I was going for. I think to get more crackles I needed to apply more of the crackle glaze. A candlestick fits perfectly.
