Working from Home

Adapting in the time of COVID

This year we all had to change the way we work. If the global pandemic taught me one thing, it's how to adapt. Because I started learning ceramics in school this year, I had to work remotely for parts of the class. Making ceramic artwork from home taught me to look for tools in my environment. Sponges, plastic utensils, toothpicks and skewers are all things I found useful in my kitchen. You do not need expensive tools or an elaborate set up to make art.

One tool I find the most helpful is my sketchbook. Planning projects and sketching ideas allows me to visualize my work before I begin. It is a great way to stay inspired when working from home.
